Question above states it all. I reinstalled Yahoo toolbar. No help. I do have the Yahoo toolbar but all my customizing is gone on it. I can't right click on toolbar to add stuff. I made the mistake of updating to Fox 36 on three different computers. They are all the same now. Lost toolbar. Did not update friends computer and it is OK with showing all the customization on Yahoo toolbar. (35.0) I need to go back to Fox 35. After update to 36.0, there was another update but it didn't help. Thanks

Chosen solution

Firefox 36 is still in beta, and beta software doesn't always work with extensions. You can download and install Firefox release by going to https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/ and downloading the proper language and operating system build.

Edit & Update Firefox 36 was Released 24th Feb and is no longer a Beta. There is a post suggesting Yahoo has stated there are known issues with the toolbar, and that Yahoo is working to Fix this.

Thanks so much. I should have ask here many days ago, but I had a hard time to navigate here. I did as you suggested on all three computers and it is a GO ! They are performing as nothing happened. I will not be so quick to update in the future. Thanks again.

You should update in the future, but on the release channel, not the beta channel. Someone switched your computer to the beta channel, and that's why you got the update to 36. Now that you are on the Release channel you can update safely.

Tyler, I used the menu bar at top of screen. Click on 'help', 'about Firefox' and it would show an update. Will I get a notification about the Release channel? Or do I have to go to the Release channel manually? The Release channel update did fix a few other problems I was having. Thanks again.

Firefox 35.0 from www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ is on Release channel. The release channel versions would never give you a update to a build on the separate Beta channel.

You likely installed what was one of the Beta builds of a version and when you checked for updates it gave you the current Beta build of 36.0b* at time. There are six to twelve Beta builds for a version with nine being the average often.

I think that I have it for now. I guess you can imagine what a pain this has been for me. Will do as you suggested. Thanks again

Well ff36 is on release channel now, and I have exact same problem that was originally stated. Only have mail button and nothing else. Worked fine on ff35. Was messed up with ff36 update .

I have exactly the same problem. I updated through the release channel to Firefox 36.0, and my Yahoo Toolbar is showing the same symptoms. How can I go back to ff 35 until a fix to ff 36 is available?

I tried this yesterday and no luck I even uninstalled and reinstalled yahoo toolbar. How can I go back to the 35.0 version until this problem is fixed?

Look to Yahoo for a fixed version of their Toolbar extension.

Thanks I have sent a message to them now I wait....

Please post if Yahoo ever ( and I mean ever) replies back with an answer.

I will if they ever reply back!

Same thing here. Why....oh.....why do these release these updates when they are not ready????

This is actually Yahoo's fault for not updating their toolbar on time.

It seems that Firefox did the update. Not Yahoo. I had a similar problem some time ago (fixed it) and this time I did not start the update. On another computer I reverted back to an earlier version of Firefox and it did not help with the bookmarks. Firefox updates should automatically include what we already have on it. Did Yahoo know ahead of time that firefox was going to update? I do have my bookmarks when I start internet explorer, but I need them back on Firefox. Any ideas? Thanks

If you are using the older version from the Mozilla Add-ons site, try the one on the following page, which seems to indicate it was updated on Feb. 19th:

https://us.toolbar.yahoo.com/ File name: yahootoolbar-3.2.10.20150219020417_intl-_sc-_pc-_dc-.xpi

Could anyone who tries it report whether it works any better?

more options

It did not work. I get an error message that says the add-on could not be downloaded because of a connection failure on https:://us.toolbar.yahoo.com. By the way, blaming the problem on Yahoo, as some have done above is lazy. Your updates must be backwards compatible to previous versions of software. Blaming others like Yahoo is like saying that the world must change for you instead of you adapting to live in the world. The world does not have to change to adapt to Firefox. You guys need to stop saying that because it just isn't true. You're drivign more people away.

It is not the job of Firefox to be made compatible with the hundreds of Extensions and various software applications out there that works with Firefox on Windows, Mac OSX and Linux. It is the other way.

Are you saying that we should choose another web browser?? That Firefox is commited to serve only itself?? Firefox is for the public I thought, and as such, it should try to work with everyone. Am I wrong?? What is with the updates and that everyone else has to adjust to Firefox standards. Why does Firefox have to update? To better itself or in this case to make others succumb to its will as you say?? Do you speak for Firefox?? I know that that can't be true. Why update then ?? I, like many others need your help. Not have Firefox dictate what I can do on it's web service. Would someone from Firefox help us?? James, if you are one of the top 25 contributors, why not help us?? I, like many others, do not have all the computer save as you do. Make it simple for us. That is what Firefox is supposed to do. Right??
