I have one client that when he emails me the email show's up in plain text only. I have changed the view -> Message Body as setting, but this is a global change, where as this is happening to only this one client email address. I have to have his view in HTML format because he sends me meeting invites and calendar invites that do not show up.

Some one please help!

Thanks in advance!

First of all make sure he is sending you HTML. Some email clients send in plain text if they do not know you can accept HTML.

I should probably explain a little more. I run a small network of approximately 50 pc's, all of which are running Thunderbird for email client. I pretty much have all of them setup the same. However, each user is able to change settings on their own account, I can't really control that.

My users are on teams and are copied on many of the same emails. Three of the team member's receive the email with no problem, just the fourth team member doesn't! I am sure something has been changed on that email client, perhaps a junk mail filter or something. I have gone through and reset everything that Thunderbird allows for me to reset. I am thinking it must be confused right now with this single sender being place on some sort of list buried down inside of Thunderbird. Hope this helps to understand my situation a little better.

As long as View -> Message body as... is set to "Original HTML", I can't think of anything else which would make that user different than the others.

Maybe one of the other volunteers can offer some insight; just mark my response as "Not helpful".

Thanks for your help....yes, I have changed that (several times, just hoping for something).

Anyone else have any idea's?

Did this person change your entry in their address book to show you prefer Plain Text instead of HTML?

The entry was not changed in the address book. However, I did go in an force that setting to HTML. We are waiting on an email from the client to see if it worked or not.

I think it needs to be changed on the client's end so that he is sending you HTML.

Changing in your address book only affects what you send out.

He is not sending it in plain text format. As I said above, the other 3 team members in my office receive it fine, just not the fourth one.

I have been combing the internet this morning and only see where I can change settings for this problem globally! I haven't found any thing else for just a single email problem.

He is not sending it in plain text format because, like I said above, 3 of the team members in my office receive it without a problem. It is just that fourth member that receives it in plain text.

So changing the setting in the address book to force receiving HTML from that client did not work. It is still coming in as plain text!

He might be sending plain text if the person that is getting plain text is listed as preferring plain text in the senders address book. The sender needs to check their address book entry for the person getting plain text.

I gotcha! Didn't quite understand. I will contact the sender and find out if that is what is going on. I will keep you posted.
