Super slow to launch FireFox
Newly loaded FireFox on laptop. When launching, the first window takes 23 seconds to appear (every time). Subsequent windows and tabs are immediate until app is exited. Then re-launching FireFox and opening the first window once again takes 23 seconds. IE 11, which came with the machine, always opens immediately. Running 32 bit Win 7 Professional, SP 1, 8 gig memory. Lots of free hard drive space. Do not see this on other machines.

I had a similar issue. I corrected this by closing Firefox and then opening my firewall (I used Norton Security). Find the entry for Firefox and delete it. Restart Firefox and the firewall will detect and reset the settings for Firefox. This worked for me.
Thanks for the suggestion. Didn't work. Running McAfee Endpoint Security. No way to control Firewall. Did check Windows Firewall, tried various settings, including removing, but to no avail.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.
See "Creating a profile":
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
