Icons in Gmail are not displayed properly in Firefox at all zoom levels. The problem does not occur at zoom levels below 150% or zoom levels at 200% or above. At zoom levels in between (e.g. 150%) the correct icons are not displayed until the mouse moves over their location.

The attached images show screen shots at 140% (OK), 150% (problems shown, before moving the mouse), 150% (problems shown, after moving the mouse), 190% (problems), and 200% (now OK again)

The problem was not solved by disabling extensions, going into safe mode, or refreshing Firefox.

Firefox and extensions/plugins are all fully patched.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

From the pictures and description it looks like the one issue is that they all turn into the wrong icon, the trash icon.

Is this the new compose window or a window opened from an emailto: link? I only wonder if they are different webpages, but also contact Google support if it is an issue with compatibility.

In the past there has also been an issue with Mixed Content, when you zoom in to 150% are there any errors in the Web Console? If there are no errors, this can be eliminated.

I am unable to reproduce this, in order to make sure something that we are unaware of has not become corrupt, can you try a new profile? Use multiple profiles in Thunderbird
