when I open firefox instead of opening my yahoo mail (homepage) it tells me access denied. I can search yahoo and log in and it opens fine on either my laptop and my PC . one runs linux the other win xp.. I synced them after a recent update and thats when the problem started. I can turn off ghostery and home page will open fine. is anyone else having home page problems?

Until you mentioned Ghostery, I was wondering whether you might have an old home page address that needed to be updated in case Yahoo has moved your preferred mail server. That's still probably worth checking (i.e., open your Yahoo! mailbox in a way that works, then save the current address as your home page, replacing whatever you had before).

Ghostery might be affecting cookies or other data that Yahoo expects to receive. But it's a little odd to get "Access Denied" if you simply need to log in again, so I'm not sure what's going on.

I tried first thing to reset home page. I too can't figure the denied thing but still opens when I go thru the search and sign in. After restart I have to do it all over unless I shut down ghostery. everything worked fine until last week. I was thinking something may be fubared in the sign in page but it works when I search it and sign in

Note that your System Details List shows multiple Flash plugins.

  • Shockwave Flash 11.8 r800
  • Shockwave Flash 17.0 r0

You can find the installation path of all plugins on the about:plugins page.

You can check the Flash player installation folder for multiple Flash player plugins and remove older version(s) of the plugin (NPSWF32) and possibly (re)install the latest Flash player.
