Can I edit the Subject Line of a received message or add a note for my reference?

I am still new with TB after using Outlook for years. In Outlook it was possible to edit the subject line although the content was lock. This was nice to put the content in your context, make a note, etc. Can you do it in Thunderbird or is the some other way to add a note?

Chosen solution

I think the EditEmailSubject add-on would add the functionality that you want.
