Having received a suspicious email from "Service Security" why will T-bird not delete it?

more options

I received an email from an unknown entity named "Service Security". The subject reads, "Your account has limitaion [sic]. You can resolve this now." It contains an attachment. I refuse to open the email. I moved it to the "Trash" folder; but it will not be deleted, nor can I move it to the "Deleted" folder ... unlike any other message I have ever received. What must I do to get this out of my system?

Very curious! At least it is gone.

I guess you rebooted the 2nd time before trying the Shift+Delete. Just curious if bypassing the Trash folder would have made a difference.

Try holding the Shift key while pressing Delete. This bypasses the Trash folder.

Is your Trash folder full? When was the last time you Compacted your folders?

My Trash folder is kept empty, and I compact folders frequently, depending on overall activity. Rebooting the first time also made no difference. I could delete other messages ... those received before and after this, but not this one message. Most curious!! What about a message could make this difference?

Rebooting a second time fixed my problem!! I was then able to delete to the Trash folder, then to erase this message entirely.
