The only real change in Windows support in next while is for the Win64 builds. When Win64 is available for Release (maybe Firefox 41.0) the minimum that Win64 builds will work on is 64-bit Windows 7 and newer.

The 64-bit WinXP, Vista and servers users can still use the 32-bit Firefox then.

I use Windows XP SP3 with an older processor, an AMD Athlon XP 3000+. This processor has SSE capability only. I am aware that much software is now being released only for processors with SSE2 or higher capability. The latest version of Firefox works with a SSE only processor. How long will this continue please?

hi, sse2 support is now presumably required starting with firefox 49. there is a switch to vs2015 for compiling firefox and apparently it has some bugs that cause instability with older processors.
