Since upgrading to WIndows 10, my Thunderbird updater is broken. Would it be possible to download one that works with 10?
Everything else seems to work fine, but I'm stuck in my old (31.7.0) version because the updater refuses to load.
There is no error message or other problem, I just can't get the updater to start up--not by using "Restart to Update" and not by finding the "updater" application in the Mozilla Thunderbird folder and trying to start it manually.
I'm tempted to just keep using it, but I'm sure I'll need a security update eventually. ...That and Thunderbird keeps flashing me messages that new updates are available, which quickly disappear as they try to call up the updater.

I would not so casually suggest it if it did. Setting and the Program are completely separate. Something you might want to keep in mind if you ever get rid of your computer.

just reinstall from getthunderbird.com You will have to wait for about 6 weeks for an update to see if it fixed the problem, but I think it will.
Will this overwrite my old version, so that I have to regenerate all my passwords and addresses?

Way cool! I've been tearing my hair out, trying to figure out which of the many puzzling files in the Mozilla folder to back up.
I'll give it a try... Yup, it worked and everything is still there. Thanks so much!
