I keep getting a popup with a phone number offering to stop popups and want to block it and several others like shopping assistant and a couple of others offering dating sites when I am on zoosk. I've run scans and this crap keeps coming when Sophos, Windows scan and Avask indicate all viruses are removed. How do I get rid of this S--t? Also why do I have to refresh Firefox daily when I keep getting the message about how to speed it up?

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one. Windows 8 has antivirus built-in already.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Hi, I appreciate you've run several AV scans, but not all removal programs will detect all malware, so you may need to run several to successfully clean out all the junk.

So try working through Remove Shopping Assistant adware (Virus Removal Guide) by Malware Tips.

You can also check your pop-up blocker settings - Pop-up blocker settings, exceptions and troubleshooting, and use an ad-blocker like Adblock Plus.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.
