I need an add-on to read an email from a specified sender and forward some of the information in the email to a mail list. This needs to be done automatically and instantly the email is received. The mail list is likely to be small max 150. A facility to tweet the same information as a Direct Message to the mail list would also be a benefit.

AFAIK: There is no add-on that allows this. You may have to consider a Commercial product.

It is no easy feat to have a program automatically and instantly:-

  • detect and open mail,
  • read the contents,
  • determine that certain information, possibly randomly located inside, should be shared with others,
  • ensure that the program copies all of, and only, the needed information
  • compose the appropriate message body with the information included
  • automatically address message to a mailing list,
  • keep track of number of recipients to avoid providers limits.
  • keep track of messages not yet processed
  • send the messages, when approaching a recipient limit.
  • continue running until all inbox messages are processed and outgoing messages sent.

If the program is automated, even a single message arriving at the inbox could trigger the program to run and issue emails to the mailing list, unless there is also a timer function that allows the program to only run at intervals.
