To Toad Hall: Earlier updates of Thunderbird did not require to re-establish the email acciunt with my provider.

Why is this with Thunderbird 38 neccessary ?

I presume a lot of people do not like to re-establish their email account. So why do You stimulate (long-term) user either to wait for a next better version of Thunderbird or using another email program ?
