After uploading the latest version of Thunderbird to my HP All-in-one with Microsoft Windows 10 the scan & email no longer works using my Canon Lide110 scanner. I t previously worked well. I am able to use other function such as Auto scan or scan and save, and then attached manually to Thunderbird. This is however inconvenient. When using the scan & email the scan starts, the blue line indicating the scan commences then stops & freezes. Warning box comes up and states that scanner is unable to communicate with email program, that the cables might be disconnected or the scanner turned off, neither of which is the case. Both computer & scanner have been checked, background programs such as Trend Micro & download manager have been turned off without any change. Scanner drivers are all up to date.

Just a thought, are Tbird your primary email-client? Or does win10 assume its a Microsoft-product?
