Cannot copy Code(even in Safe mode) snippets from Bootsnipp.com it just copies 1 character works in Chrome

more options

http://bootsnipp.com is a snippets website I just cannot copy the snippets. It selects the code box but when I copy and then paste I literally get only this "?" I hope you can see its like those font icons that don't render properly on Firefox. I tried the safe mode but it just wont work. It works fine in chrome. Nobody else on the internet seems to have this problem(I guess they are not firefox users).

So don't tell me to start in safe mode I already did that. I am just getting frustrated here this is the 10th time this month I have had to open up google chrome to do some important work. FF has become worse than Internet Explorer I migrated out so many years ago. this is just so frustrating. Because I can troubleshoot really well and figure stuff out. But lately the problems with FF have just been strange with no explanation at all.

Chosen solution

As an example, I opened this:

http://bootsnipp.com/snippets/featured/ribbon-buttons

Then I clicked the HTML button and there is a very complex code display with a script that manipulates a textarea control. I can select and copy from it with my settings.

However, I can break the page and paste only a strange control character (Notepad++ shows it as SOH) by toggling a preference in about:config. Please check whether you've got this turned off:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste clip and pause while the list is filtered

(3) If the dom.event.clipboardevents.enabled preference is bolded and "user set" to false, double-click it to restore the default value of true, then reload the page and try again

Success?

Some users may have set that preference to false due to a problem with pasting into the comment box on YouTube. Another workaround for YouTube is a Greasemonkey userscript that cancels the paste interception only on YouTube.

I hope you can see its like those font icons that don't render properly on Firefox.

By the way, if you have this problem currently with font icons, the usual cause is that the site specified a font that Firefox didn't download, and there's no matching font available on your system. Typically this is caused by unchecking a box on the Options page here:

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Content > "Advanced" button

If the box for Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above is not checked, it needs to be checked to show downloadable fonts (including icon fonts)

That Worked Thanks a Million. I was all ready to ditch FF and move to Chrome as my Default browser cause I really needed to go through a lot of this snippets to understand bootstrap better

You are right only sometimes when fonts don't load(internet problem) I was just giving you a reference. But sometimes it just does not. Like right now Its not showing Even thought My system has not been rebooted since yesterday when it was showing all right http://rajsolutions.net/qlik/designfp/buyer.html this is the URL Only the Home icon before the Home menu is not appearing while icons used below are appearing BTW since you bought it up I have a problem with webfonts not displaying clear in Firefox. Only some webfonts URL is same as above Attaching screenshot. In Chrome, IE Opera and Safari its appears smooth only in FF its rough I tried all trouble shooting disabled Hardware Acc etc. Clear type is enabled on my Windows 7 BTW And its only with this particular webpage and a few others I keep coming across. But the same pages don't have the problem in other browsers I am sorry Should I open a new question for this? Let me know Thanks

The missing icon seems to be part of a .woff file that Firefox cannot retrieve, see attached screen shot showing the Network Monitor section of the web console, 404 not found.

Font smoothing works better with hardware acceleration enabled. With it disabled, it may be more "gritty" at various sizes depending on the hinting in the fonts themselves. I'm definitely not an expert on that.

So that uses Themify instead of Fontawesome No wonder My bad. Well the problem with enabling Hardward acceleration is that I have disabled because of other problems I was facing with Youtube in Firefox. So Now I don't know what to do. Its pretty impossible for me to preview webfonts I am using on FF or Youtube won't work

That's a tough one. If we're talking about some rougher-looking fonts vs. crashing, I guess it's an easy call.

Were the YouTube problems with the HTML5 player or the Flash player? I noticed you have one of the extensions that can force Flash on YouTube to work around issues with the HTML5 player.

Thats what has been happening with FF lot of sacrifices in the last few years I have stopped installing firefox as the default browser in all my friend PC when they ask me to fix something(Yeah I am the "computer guy") cause I don't want to go back They use Chrome I am like ok cause I am suffering so much with FF myself why give them the same pain.

Anyways I have that extension installed So are you saying I can now enable hardware acceleration.

BTW that extensions disable the 'watched' videos in youtube so videos I watch only not marked as "watched" (except for search results).

There is a sacrifice on everything here. Its really sad. I used to love FF. Ah and there is the problem of Huge Memory Leaks. I don't install the fasterfox and other extensions for memory management as that has given problems in the past.

Thanks for you reply

UPDATE: enabling Hardware acceleration did not smoothen fonts But my Youtube videos are still working fine.

Honestly, it's unpredictable to me when hardware acceleration will cause a problem.
