Using latest version, when I choose 'reply all' TB sends a reply to the original sender, me (!), and that's it. The other two people are not included and must be added manually. I have no add-ons or extensions.

thanks

Anyone have a thought about this?

I'm trying to picture exactly what you see, which email you are using and what options you are using.

Is this an email which you sent and included yourself in a TO field along with two other people each in a TO field?

Are you viewing an email you 'Sent' when you click on 'Reply all' or the one you received?

Were the other two people in a TO, Cc, or Bcc field?

Are you using a 'Reply-all' button as displayed in the header section or Are you using a right click and select 'Reply to all' option from drop down menu?

more options

This is an email that was sent by Person A to Persons B and me in the TO: field, and to persons C, D, and E in the CC: field.

When I use the 'reply all' button, TB creates an email to persons A & B. C,D,& E are not included.

Another example: Person A sends an email to Person B, and in the CC field is myself, and persons C,D, &E. When I use the 'reply all;' button, TB creates an email to Persons A and B, but not to anyone else.

I'd expect (and appreciate) being left out of the recipient list for a reply all as I don't want copies of emails i send, but not sure why others are left out. Maybe there's a reply all switch where you can leave out folks who are CC'd?

thanks,

UIt should be including the Cc. I've tested this on my system and Cc is included as well the TO.

Please restart Thunderbird in Safe Mode and re test.

In Thunderbird Help > Restart with addons disabled.

Arg, just a newbie mistake, I didn't notice the scroll bar to the right, when I scrolled down I saw all the intended recipients. But I do also see my own name when I hit 'reply all.' Why would that happen?

re :But I do also see my own name when I hit 'reply all.' Why would that happen?

Do you have yourself as Cc'd for all outgoing mail? This would be set here: Via Menu Bar 'Tools' > 'Account Settings' > 'Copies & Folders' for mail account or right click on mail account name in Folder Pane and select 'Settings' then select 'Copies & Folders' for mail account

Do not select: 'Cc these email addresses' your email address. so uncheck it if it is selected. click on OK

Do you have more than one email address?

For example: If the email was sent from Person A to you plus others. And your email address was: me at domain dot com But you also had another email address: metwo at domain dot com

Did they send it to both of your email addresses, so that two TO fields were your email addresses?

When you click on 'Reply-All', is the 'FROM' email address (you as you are now replying), exactly the same as the one that is Cc'd OR are they different email addresses but both yours.

To answer your question, no, when Person A sends an email to persons B, C, and me, my name appears only once in this incoming message. When I hit 'reply all', my name appears in my own out-going message as a recipient.

I did double-check in account settings: my email address is me@verizon.net, but I use a different reply-to address, me@pobox.com as it's a forwarding address that never changes, regardless of ISP. I don't see how that could be the problem area.

thanks

Could someone help me with this?

Thanks for images, it is now clear that you appear to be sending from an entirely different mail account from the email address that the email was set to.

I presume 'me@verizon.net' is in the FROM field. I can see that the 'Reply-to' field has been completed as expected. I can see that the other - reply-to email address 'me@pobox.com' is the one that was in the original TO field when you received the email.

re ;but I use a different reply-to address, me@pobox.com as it's a forwarding address. Can you explain the set up for me@pobox.com incoming emails.

Are me@pobox.com emails forwarded from pobox server to verizon server and then downloaded to one verizon mail account in Thunderbird? OR Are the me@pobox.com emails received on the pobox server, downloaded to a separate pobox.com mail account in Thunderbird? OR have you set up a deferred account to use a Global Inbox. In other words you have created a pobox.com mail account, but the incoming mail is redirected to either: the verizon mail account Inbox or Global Inbox (Local Folders) OR Is the 'me@pobox.com' added as an additional identity to the 'me@verizon.net' mail account?

more options

I'll try to answer these questions, but I'm not certain:

Here's the setup for pobox.com:

Pobox.com is a forwarding service. So any email sent to that address get routed to whatever ISP I'm using. In this case, it's verizon.net

Even though I use verizon.net as my ISP, I want all my incoming emails to go to pobox.com. That way, if I decide to change ISP, the email address stays the same.

I presume 'me@verizon.net' is in the FROM field.

In an outgoing email, the "From field" has only my full name but no email address at all.

Are me@pobox.com emails forwarded from pobox server to verizon server and then downloaded to one verizon mail account in Thunderbird?

Yes, and I have only one account set up on TBird.

thanks,

Please try this: create an identity for the pobox.com email address. Right click on mail account name in folder pane and select 'Settings' click on 'Manage identites' button it will show you currently have one identity for that mail account. click on 'Add' and enter details of the pobox.com email address. you not have to change the outgoing server.

info here in more detail: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Mozilla_Suite_:_FAQs_:_Mail_Aliases

then it should recognise that pobox.com is one of your identites. At the moment TB sees the pobox.com email address as someone else and therefore uses the default identity in FROM and places the pobox.com in a TO field.

See if it does the following: On 'Reply-all', it does not add a TO field for me@pobox.com. Offers both email addresses (accessed via drop down) in FROM field.

I think that solves it! Thanks so much!!
