Cannot delete bookmarks - Firefox 41.0.1
I have tried the solution described in "How do I delete a bookmark?" in your Help pages http://mzl.la/1xKryNt
This removes the bookmark from the list of bookmarks.
But now, if I type the bookmark again in the "Search or enter address" box, it still works and goes to the pages it used to go to.
The reason I want to delete the bookmark is that it points to outdated versions of the Google Spreadsheet that I want to see. I want to delete all references to the older sheets, then re-instate the bookmark so that it only points to the latest sheet.
Any ideas how to do this?

Hi, when you type in the search box it's probably picking it up from your history, so delete all references to the website in question, as shown under the heading 'How do I remove a single website from my history?' in this article - Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox.
You can also change your history settings if you wish - Settings for privacy, browsing history and do-not-track.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file (bookmarks, history) in the Firefox profile folder.
- Places Maintenance: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/places-maintenance/
If the Places Maintenance extension can't repair the places.sqlite database file then remove all places.sqlite file(s) in the Firefox profile folder to make Firefox rebuild the places.sqlite database file from the most recent JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.
Many thanks to Scribe for a simple way to solve this problem, which works!
