i want to go back to my older version - the one that supported me being able to get my options to pop up instead of in a tab- which this one does not support. however, when i go to the webpage with all of the older versions, it is confusing- i guess they made it that way for those of us who are not developers to discourage us. so how do i actually go back to the previous version? and no i don't want a lecture. i choose to use a version that is right for me- not one that has been forced on me.

You shouldn't be running old versions of Firefox, they are unsupported and have known security holes (https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox/). I believe you can use https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/?src=ss to restore the classic options window, if not there is likely another add-on to do the same thing.
