On the page with my commonly-used websites (little squares) I keep getting "suggestions" like Wired, Quartz, etc. I consider these ads and would like to block them. How can I do this?

Thank you. I know how to use that to make the square disappear. It will, after trying twice more, and then not show up for another day or two. What I am trying to do is "teach" Firefox, if you will, to not make suggestions.

Sorry, I don't understand what you're saying. If you uncheck the box for listing suggested sites, Firefox is forgetting that setting?

Thanks, it's solved now. I just needed to interact with the right "gear" icon -- I was trying to solve it using the suggested image. Appreciate the help!
