Thunderbird updated to version 38.5 and now it won't download mail. Is there a fix, or how can I go back to the working version?
After allowing Thunderbird to update itself this morning (38.5) it won't download email. It says it's connected, but after a minute or two it just seems to drop the connection and nothing gets downloaded.
I can send mail just fine, it just won't download mail.
This is across multiple accounts on multiple domains, so it's not likely a hosting issue.
Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a fix?
If there's no fix, is there a way to go back to the previous working version?
Thanks in advance to anyone who tries to help.

Well, the problem seems to have resolved itself when I rebooted. I had closed and reopened Thunderbird three times - that's usually all you have to do, if that - but this time apparently a reboot was needed. The software update didn't tell me that.
Anyway, problem solved.

I updated to 38.7.1 today.
My gmail imap account connects with no problem but my dreamhost pop3 account won't connect. I verified the server settings and tried changing to an alternative port. No luck.
I have closed and reopened several times, rebooted several times as well.
I have checked my webmail account and all is fine there. The pop account also works on my iPad, the account is Len@Lgrossman.com
I have a large number of filters in Thunderbird and I depend on sorting in Thunderbird.
A more simple question. How do I open a new thread?
