I finally got a csv file entered into an address book. Now I wish to send a blanket email. In the TO area on the email I want both the person's name and their email to show up.

I clicked on the tiny window on the top right and see that the Name field is grayed out so even though it is checked it doesn't show up in the TO area, only the email address shows.

This is a list of mostly old ladies and they think it is rude not to be addressed by name but only by email address...lol

Can someone help?

you need to include the name in the Display name field. This will be included with the address in the sent mail. When you add a name manually, the display name is filled as you type, but I think with imports there is an expectation that it will be "as imported"

On a slightly different note, you might want to use the mail merge add-on. That way you can personalize the body of the mail so they get that personalized touch of dear Mrs smith which in my experience that age group take for granted but get very pleased when someone uses technology to give them what they consider the minimum for polite correspondence.

It can be fiddly, especially with the column heading. spaces either before or after the column names send it off.
