Saving Pref-Statup tabs as current pages, saves actual Preferences tab, too

When I'm trying to update the list of tabs I use at startup (usually a dozen or more) I go to Firefox/Preferences/General/Startup and select "Use current pages" button.

This used to work as I expected, but now it saves all the tabs I expect PLUS the actual tab with the general preferences on it, which I don't want. I'm assuming this is a bug, but I've not been able to find other people talking about it.

Thanks for any help. This is on a Mac, El Cap and Firefox 43.0.4

Yes, when you save by using Use current pages and that Preferences tab is open it does get saved as one of your Homepages. That is a Bug that should be fixed in the Firefox 46 version. For now, if you click in the "Home Page" text box in Preferences > General and cursor all the way to the right, you can backspace and clear that about:preferences uri. Make sure you clear the | (pipe symbol) too.

I should have thought of that... A small irritant, but annoying nonetheless.

Thank you tremendously!

You can pin the tab with the about:preferences page via the right-click context menu of the tab to prevent including about:preferences to the home page setting if you want to use this button in "Options/Preferences > General". To set a single page as the home page you can drag the globe/padlock to the toolbar Home button.
