Firefox tabs and graphics disappear

When I have multiple tabs open, they disappear. It's not that the tabs aren't there, it's that I have to mouse over them to reveal what's there. I can't see them. This happens again periodically after I've moused over to reveal my tabs again. Even after mousing over them, pieces of the tab graphics aren't displaying correctly.

Also, after leaving my computer and coming back the next day, pieces of websites that were loaded correctly the last time the computer was used are missing graphics.

I'm running Firefox 43.0.4 on a Windows 7 computer. It says that FireFox is up to date. This problem started to occur rather recently - I don't know if it is associated with a new update or not.

Hi jesilynkelts.

Please read how to Troubleshoot and diagnose Firefox problems. In your case, I would suggest to try, if the problem occurs in Firefox safe mode too, which will tell us on what to focus.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

You can check if there is an update for your graphics display driver and check for hardware acceleration related issues.
