In the past DW helper has worked fine on this Mac MIni running OSX 10.6.8. Firefox seems to work fine (version 44). Installed DW helper. It shows up under menu-> extensions as version 5.4.2 but never shows up on the toobar. Tried rebooting. No luck. Puzzled. Rest of computer seems to run fine. I suspect that something needs to be enabled but what?

Thanks

Is it shown in the Add-ons Manager? Any warnings or messages? There are several such programs. What is the full name, website?

That is the Firefox update page.

I think you mean; Video DownloadHelper 5.4.2 https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper/

I have it and it's very handy.

Is its icon on the toolbar? Type about:customizing<enter> in the address bar. In the new window, look for the icon. When you find it, hold down the left button on it, and move it to where you want it to be. You can move any of the icons you want from here, but some icons are locked in place.

The download helper icon is not on the toolbar. I tried your suggestion,

"about:customizing" and did not find the icon on the resulting page. I got things like 'open file', 'sidebars', etc.
