I had created folders in Thunderbird email, i.e., "holding", "keep forever" "mail order" these folders contained important information. I had trouble with email server and their tech removed these folders when he closed and re-opened my email account. He said he did not know it was removed them permanently.

Is there a way to back up these folders so I don't loose them again?

These add-ons can be a great help by backing up and restoring Firefox

FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension) {web link} FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions, history, passwords, and more. In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild your saved files individually into installable .xpi files. It will also make backups of files that you choose.

What exactly did the tech do? Are you certain the data doesn't exist anymore on disk?
