How to delete multiple prefs.js files from being created ?
When I use firefox and browse through I see multpile prefs.js files being created. The entries look like below prefs-1.js prefs-2.js . . . prefs-150.js
Does anybody know how do I stop these entries from being created. I am using Firefox 38 in linux environment

hi, this might be a permissions issue on your linux environment - is there full write-access to your profile folder and the files in there?
Thanks for the reply I do have full read write and execute permissions on there as the user I have -rwx r-- r-- user group prefs.js
and the same on the folder/directory too.

And more over it does not do it everytime sometimes it creates the extra numbered files sometimes I see the size of prefs.js file also increases
Try to rename the ~/.mozilla/firefox folder and let Firefox create a new profile folder structure. Also make sure that you do not start Firefox as root user.
I have customization and extensions in place which I would want to stay . Any other idea to go about that ....
