Unable to delete few mails from inbox it's reappear again?
Every day I received more than 300 mails in my inbox and most of the unnecessary mails I had to delete. But from last 3 months I am facing such critical issue with thunderbird.am unable to delete few mails from my inbox. If I trying to delete few mails it got deleted but few mails are not getting deleted, it's reappearing again into inbox. If I tried to delete all those mails 5-6 times then it get deleted. I have uninstall the Thunderbird and reconfigure it twice but same problem is appearing.
Pls suggest.

Just á simple check, on your pc: Is it an IMAP or POP account? Do you regularly empty your trash can? Do you regularly compact your inbox (and other folders)?
And on the server side: Does the reappearing mail stay in server-Inbox? There could be something stopping the mails to be fully downloaded to you so: Try deleting them on server. Try empty your trash can on server.
It's a IMAP account. Every day I clean the trash and compact the Inbox folder. Also I empty my trash folder on the server. But the problem is still arising.
Please suggest.
Gnospen suggested you delete the emails on the server, not just empty your trash folder on the server. Did you do what he advised?
IMAP is basically letting you view your servers folders.
Basically only the headers would be downloaded until you open a mail. But to speed up it could be pre-downloaded to cache.
If you have "keep messages for this account on this computer" checked, (Your Account Settings/ Synchronization &storage) a copy would be placed into your folder.
- So clear resent history, under tools (ctrl + shift + del)
Your T-bird-folders should sync with server. When you delete a header in T-bird there should be a request to server to delete that mail.
If a download is stuck, "Finished" isn't set and the download will restart next time T-bird sync's with server.
- go offline, delete those mails, empty trash and compact.
- empty cache (clear resent history). Close T-bird.
- use webmail to delete, empty trash and compact (?) on server,
- restart T-bird
Do you have a lot of mails in inbox?
Dear Friend,
I have done all the above mention procedure but still same problem is arising.
Please suggest.
Try right click on the INBOX and (under properties) repair.
If that doesnt work
open your profile, you can find it thru help/troubleshooting information and the show folder-button.
CLOSE T-BIRD
Under ImapMail/"your account" copy INBOX (without extension) somewhere safe. Delete both INBOX and INBOX.msf
In webmail be sure you have deleted the recurring emails.
restart T-Bird A new INBOX should appear and your mails should start downloading again. If not you can reinstall your saved copy. (.msf will be recreated)
Modified
After doing above mention procedure problem is not resolved.
Please suggest.

I just have two more options, Do you use "unified" views? (View / Folders) Do you have Global search and indexing on? (Tools /Options / Advaced / General)
Turn them off.
Repeat delete, compacting.
You haven't told us if you manage to delete it from server.
For your information I do not use "unified" views in Thunderbird.
As per your instruction I disabled the "Global search and indexing option. Also I delete unnecessary mails from server and compact the inbox, but the same problem is arising.
Please suggest.
To summarize:
- On server you deleted those mails and emptied the trash (they should NOT be in "All-Files" any more)
- On your PC you deleted the INBOX and the INBOX.msf for that account in your profile, while Tbird was NOT running. (Make a copy for safety)
- Then when T-bird was started a new INBOX was created and mails from server was downloaded
- Despite that those sticky mails reappeared?
Correct? Then I would recheck the server.
I have done all the above mention procedure, but the problem is still arising with the new mail.
please suggest.
....... arising with the new mail.
Does that mean your old sticky ones are gone? Or do they still get downloaded? Are new mails getting sticky?
Anything special in those mails? Check tools /error console : empty, close, check your account and and reopen. Any error that strikes you?
The old sticky mails are gone, but the new mails are getting sticky. If I try to delete all those sticky mails then it's not getting deleted, it will reappear within fraction of second. If I make the Thunderbird offline then I am able to delete all the sticky mails easily. Please check the below mention error report and suggest.
Timestamp: 01-Mar-16 4:19:44 PM Error: uncaught exception: 2147746065
Thats not an error-report I could find. Crash-reports are listed as "bp-657b8a7c-90b1-4171-a15f-dfaf........"
I will ask for some help.
If I understand this correctly.
You delete a mail, a few seconds later it reappears.
Is this with your Gmail accounts, yahoo accounts or both. That in not mentioned here.
If it is both, which I am assuming, I think we might be dealing with an external issue.
But first,
Right click your account and select Settings. In the Server setting for each account, check it is set to move the messages to the Trash folder in the account in question. Make sure that the folder actually exists. That is Thunderbird might be trying to mover to a deleted folder but the server has a trash folder for instance.
Do you run any sort of security software? whilst it is not common, do you have anti virus software?
I am using Yahoo account and I do not have any kind of antivirus software or security software.
Today I am again uninstalled the Thunderbird, delete the profile folder and reinstalled and reconfigure it. After that download all the mails from the server. But whenever new mails are arrived in the inbox folder and if I try delete few of the mails then again I am facing the same issue, some deleted mails reappear within fraction of second.
Please help me and give me a proper solution.
If I make the Thunderbird offline then I am able to delete all those sticky mails easily but if I make it online then I am unable to delete all those mails with a single click of the delete key. After trying to delete a single mails 7-8 times then it's got deleted.
pls help.
