Why have I had to refresh Firefox for my wife's and my log in due to Bookmarks not being saved 3 times in the last 4 months?

My wife and I have our own accounts on both of 2 computers. 3 times in the last 4 months we have lost the ability to save Bookmarks. each time I have had to refresh Firefox for both accounts on both PCs. It always works but I then have to reinstall all our add-ons and settings, which is getting to be a pain. Has this been a common occurrence recently? Isn't there a less time consuming way to fix this?

In your Question Details > More System Details you have an extension named IE Tab +. Several older IE Tab extensions have caused bookmarking problems in recent versions of Firefox. Have you tried disabling just that one?

I don't know how many pages you prefer to view in IE, but if it's only a few, you can use the Open in IE extension to send the address to IE itself.

I am not sure there is any particular reason why you should need to refresh Firefox repeatedly so as to be able to save bookmarks.

These article explains how to sort out some bookmarks issues

  1. Recover lost or missing Bookmarks
  2. Can't add, change or save bookmarks - How to fix

The first article is about accidents in the setup. The second is for cases where something goes wrong with the database, or access to it.

One thing that does cross my mind is do you both set Firefox to clear History when it closes down ?

There have been ongoing problems with closedown and startup over several versions of Firefox and that could be what you have run in to.
