How do I create a message filter based on Address Book List?

I am inside the Message filter and I don't see an option to use an Address Book list as a filter such that any email inside this list would be used to filter my messages! Thanks

You can only create a filter based on address book, but not based on mailing list.

Ok How do I create an address book from a mailing list ? Can this be done ? Because I am on a MAC the "Groups" created in Mac "Contacts" App come in as Mailing lists. The logical question then is why does Thunderbird have mailing lists if you can only use this to send out mail but not be able to filter back on the same list.

I hope this feature can be introduced at some point! :)
