Deleted bookmarks are reappearing faster than i can delete them

After using Firefox for many years for some reason i have over 15000 copies of just 5 web PAGES bookmarked (about us, customize firefox, get involved and 2 others) and 100's of copies of folders of bookmarks.

I have used bookmark deduplicater but the bookmarks are back within minutes of being deleted.

I've changed my password like i saw in another thread.

Are you using Sync to sync the bookmarks?

If you use Sync then best is to disconnect Sync while performing maintenance/repair efforts to the places.sqlite database.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database (bookmarks and history) in the Firefox profile folder.

disconnected and they still came back quickly
