Installed Thunderbird: worked well at first, now gives me error message on sen-Outgoing server (SMTPSending of the message failed. WTFDTM?
I installed Thunderbird having had problems with Outlook after installing Windows 10. It worked well at first, but now I get the following nerdspeak message when I try to send an email:-
"Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail: Unable to establish a secure link with Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.ntlworld.com using STARTTLS since it doesn't advertise that feature. Switch off STARTTLS for that server or contact your service provider. "
Yeh Right??? Virgin pounced on my dilemma and send an army of techs round to sort it - I don't think!
I have two accounts/users/email addresses on my computer, both use Thunderbird one works the other doesn't despite working originally. I haven't altered any settings - have you?

Thunderbird is email client software running on YOUR computer. I am not sure who you are asking about changing anything. Talk to your provider and confirm what server settings you are supposed to use.
