The Thunderbird Trash folder only shows the header info for trashed emails . I want to copy that info, not the email itself, into a separate file. When I highlight the header info the Copy function is greyed out under the Edit menu. Control C does not work either. The Save As command under the File menu does save the info to a file, but the sort order is totally different than in the Trash display. I need the info sorted by the Correspondents column which is the first column in my Trash display.

How can I copy just the header info as shown in the Trash folder? Using Windows 10, Firefox and Thunderbird - all 100% up-to-date.

Thanks for any help.

Chosen solution

Install ImportExportTools (how to install), then right-click the Trash (or any) folder, ImportExportTools/Export all messages in the folder/just index (HTML) to generate an html file with a table of Subject, From, To, date etc., that can be viewed in a browser.

showers,

Many many thanks. Your solution worked perfectly.

Just a comment, not a complaint - I saved the file as a CSV instead of HTML so I could import it into Excel. Now I can sort it and use any of the Excel functions.

Thanks again - problem solved!
