I used to have a "send" option on my menu bar. but it suddenly went away. I can still send emails by opening the file menu and clicking on "send now" or "send later" but it would be nice not to have to go through that extra step or two. how to get "send" back is my question. thanks

Chosen solution

Send is on the Composition toolbar in a Write window. Did you lose the entire toolbar?

If so select View-Toolbars and turn it back on.

Thank you sooooooo much. Yes I lost the composition bar. the lack of "send" was driving me nuts!

I do have one more question. At the same time I lost "send" I lost single spacing on my Thunderbird emails. Now, unless I continue to write past the end of a line, they are all double spaced. Do you know how I get them back to single space?

Double space is a new "feature" per the release notes for ver. 45.

https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/45.0/releasenotes/ You can turn that off by going to... Options-composition-general. In the HTML section uncheck the last option that refers to paragraphs.

Thanks a million. I'm back to single spacing again and love it.

In View Toolbars there is no Compostion Toolbar only Menu, Mail, Quick Filter and Status - all on

Try looking in a Write window instead of the main window.

There was no menu toolbar in Write window. However Alt brought it back temporarily enabling ticking of Menu toolbar and Composition toolbar in View Toolbars bringing everything back in the Write window.
