Guys,

I need help with my problem.

I have the latest Mozilla browser and i do have plugins running on it and java is up to date. I didnt see this problem till last night. I did clean everything and did install a fresh copy but didnt work.

List of plugins that i have. By the way i did start in the safe-mode and disabled all the plugins but didnt work.

  • Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape 15.10.20056
  • Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape 15.16.20039
  • A plugin to detect whether the Adobe Application Manager is installed on this machine.
  • Google Update
  • NPRuntime Script Plug-in Library for Java(TM) Deploy
  • Next Generation Java Plug-in 11.91.2 for Mozilla browsers
  • The plugin allows you to have a better experience with Microsoft SharePoint
  • The plugin allows you to have a better experience with Microsoft Lync
  • Nitro PDF plugin for Firefox and Chrome
  • Shockwave Flash 21.0 r0
  • VLC media player Web Plugin

when i open Facebook it gives me a page full of codes and that's it. My Facebook account works on other browsers. As i said this happened only last night and still is there.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I think someone else just reported the same kind of thing: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1122453

Could you try "the usual" if you haven't already:

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

(1) Clear Firefox's Cache

See: How to clear the Firefox cache

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes. If you do not see the number going down on the page, you can reload it using Ctrl+r to check progress.

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:

  • right-click (on Mac Ctrl+click) a blank area of the page and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • click the padlock or "i" icon in the address bar, then the ">" button, then More Information, and finally the "View Cookies" button

In the dialog that opens, the current site should be pre-filled in the search box at the top of the dialog so you can remove that site's cookies individually.

Then try reloading the page (and log into FB again). Does that help?

If that doesn't help, could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? In Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any improvement? (More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode)

Oops, I see you already tried safe mode, so I didn't need to suggest that.

Could you check whether this is a character encoding problem? While viewing a corrupted page:

Tap the Alt key to activate the classic menu bar, then

View menu > Text Encoding > try Western or Unicode, whichever one is not selected

Any difference?

According to another thread, this is a problem with the Kaspersky feature that filters secure browser connections. See: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1122421
