I have a XP laptop without a working browser. Can I download FF to my desktop, then install it on the laptop? Is there a special version for laptops?

Windows computers have Internet Explorer built in.

Using another computer, Download Firefox Full Version For All languages And Systems {web link} onto a thumb drive. After, plug the thumb into your system.

Laptops are fine.

Hello, note also that if you have xp with sp3 then you can use the above link from FredMcD's reply.

Otherwise if you have xp with sp2 then you will have to download firefox 43.0.1 version from the next link : https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/43.0.1/ and then after you install that version (43.0.1) then you can update to latest (46.0.1 today), you can not install 46.0.1 directly (like in xp with sp3) because the latest installers for Firefox require Windows XP with Service Pack 3 (SP3) only.

thank you

Correction on above reply by ideato.

If you go to www.mozilla.org or www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ with a browser on WinXP, you will get served 43.0.1 regardless if you have SP2 or SP3 installed. You can then update to 46.0.1.

If you do have WinXP SP3 then you can get 46.0.1 from https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/46.0.1/win32/

It is not possible to tell by the default browser users agents on WinXP if the user has SP2 or SP3 installed as to why 43.0.1 is served to WinXP users.
