I have just installed Thunderbird and wish to transfer everything from Windows Live Mail. I have installed the addon importexporttools-3.2.4.1-sm+tb. Then Menu\Tools\Import\Import Everything \Next does not give me an option to enter the source.

I think you'll find that option is native to Thunderbird and has no connection with the ImportExportTools add-on.

Select an existing folder, or create and select a new folder; it could be under Local Folders, or in whichever working email account you want to use. Then go to Tools|ImportExportTools and you'll be able to select import sources. Or right-click an existing folder and select the ImportExportTools option.

I have never used Windows Live Mail so I can't comment on importing from it. Were you specifically advised to use the ImportExportTools add-on?

Certain other email clients are recognized by Thunderbird and you can import directly from them. Given that the standard Import tool didn't offer you the option to import from WLM, I guess this isn't one of those recognized clients.
