I ran the recovery disk on my computer (Windows 7). Did not back-up Thunderbird. When I reinstalled it, all inbox messages downloaded but no email folders downloaded (saved email messages). Is there any way I can recover them?

I have no idea what that means. If your Thunderbird profile got erased in the process all your Local Folders are gone if you don't have a backup or a backup has been created in the process.

No backup was created :( Any chance it might be cyberspace or is there a search program that might find it somewhere on my hard drive. Recovery disks brings the computer back to factory settings (may be the same as reformatting - not sure)

This is where your Thunderbird profile should be. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Thunderbird

If it's not there, consider your data lost.

Newer versions of Windows seem to backup data at C:\Windows.old, but I doubt that is the case for Win7.
