ff on W7 - I can circle through tabs with ctrl+1 (to 9); ff on xubuntu, same is done by alt+1 (to 9), while ctrl+tab / ctrl+shft+tab / ctrl+w / ctrl+t all operate as they do on W7 ... why (o y) stick that ALT in there ? is it possible to change shortcut back to Ctrl+1 ( - 9) ? (if so, how?)

very sorry if already asked (I did search but didn't find), many thanks if you have a solution ..

Sorry ! can be (and has been) fixed - with the Menu Wizard Addon.. no idea why the FF guys made the change from Ctrl to Alt for this very common action. To fix: install the addon --> (MenuWizard) prefrences --> click on keyboard icon (top right hand side) --> change shortcut for key_selectTab1 -thru to - key_selectTab8 & also key_selectLastTab
