Hi All

My Hotmail account was working OK until yesterday ( and I have not made any changes to any of the settings!) but today it says my username or password are incorrect. However when I log into my Hotmail account bot username and password are accepted and I can gain access.

I have tried deleting password, accpont etc and re-installing, following manual configuration from support page on Hotmail. But still will not work.

Any suggestion that I have not ried.

Regards

Does the account use POP? They (Microsoft) seem to be disabling this. There is now a setting on the outlook.com settings website to allow you to switch it on and off but this doesn't seem to make any difference.

If you want to continue using hotmail or outlook.com you may need to switch to IMAP. In Thunderbird,

File|New|Existing Mail Account

...and add it again. If the old account, with its error messages when falling to connect to the server is too much of an irritation, move its messages to the new account then delete it.
