Just upgraded to Windows 10 and forgot to save my bookmarks and didn't have a sync account is there anyway to get them back?

I recently just upgraded to windows 10 and didn't think to save my firefox bookmarks and didn't have a newer sync account all i have is an old sync code from awhile back is there anyways that i can get my bookmarks back? i've looked at a few other posts and tried to use their solutions but couldn't find any of the files

The problem has seem to have fixed itself i turned off my computer last night then woke up this morning and turned on my PC and logged into my account and everything on my PC was back but thanks for the responses

Hi, don't know exactly what you've tried, so a couple of ideas: Open bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import and Backup > Restore, and see if you have a backup there.

Sorry, the old Firefox Sync that used the Recovery Code isn't compatible with Firefox 29 and later versions. plus the old Sync 1.1 server was shut down close to a year ago, so even an olde version couldn't be sued to recover Sync data now.

If you upgraded to Windows 10 from an older version of Windows, are you sure that Windows didn't create a backup automatically? Or maybe that was an option that some other users mentioned; and they were able to recover some or all of their Firefox data, iirc.


BTW, using Sync in lieu of a real data backup isn't an intended use of Sync. Some people have made it work, but the nature of a support forum is to hear from users who didn't "make it work". One way or another, they made a mistake and managed to lose all their data from Sync.
