What exactly did you install? Please provide a URL.

What exactly did you do to install it (whatever 'it' is)?

Hi, I'm guessing it was this add-on - definitely from Mozilla official site: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/thunderbird/addon/quick-folder-move/

I would have clicked on download and followed the guidance.

In Thunderbird, go to Tools|Add-ons, select Extensions and your add-on should appear there.

I use this add-on myself, in both Windows and Linux, and as far as I am aware, it has never interfered with my mouse operation.

The add-on moves messages, not folders. ;-)

Thank you Zenos. It must have been a different add on, but isn't shown under Extensions. I need to try and find another solution to my problem.

Start Thunderbird in Safe mode and see if the issue is resolved. In thunderbird 'Help' > 'Restart with addons disabled'

Did this resolve issue ?

The add on wasn't there so that's not the problem, unfortunately. I thinks it's something to do with my 'WinX' file but no one on a Microsoft forum I posted on has been able to offer suggestions (-

Did you restart with add-ons disabled as suggested? It is a standard diagnostic step and really can not be skipped, regardless of what we assume.

Hello Matt, on holiday for Christmas and at last had time to troubleshoot problem. I started with basics - changed the mouse. To my utter astonishment right click worked! Simple as that. Thanks to all contributors for your advice and suggestions. Nothing in my life is ever that simple, so makes a great change. Have a great Christmas!
