more options

I have searched extensively on your support websites. I finally found an answer to my specific question but it doesn't work because the version of Thunderbird I've just downloaded doesn't offer the same options as were included in the article:

1. Select Tools > Account Settings > Account Actions > Add Mail Account…

In my version 'Account Settings' fall under 'Options' and there are no options for 'Account Actions' or 'Add Mail Account'. When installing it with the Wizard I selected 'Custom installation' but had no opportunity to select a manual option.

So what do I do???

Chosen solution

The Account Settings page has a button right down at the bottom of the left hand panel which unfortunately may or may not be labelled "Account Actions". (It shows the last thing you used it for; terrible design.)

Alternatively go to File|New|Existing Mail Account, or in the "hamburger" menu, it's under New Message. (Even more awful design.)
