I'm sorely disappointed in the latest version of Thunderbird, as I no longer have a"write" button, nor can I select listings of email addresses or sent emails.

I've been using Thunderbird for years and found it to be a great product, but suddenly w/ apparently the latest upgrade there's no "write" button, or way to select my listing of email addresses or previously sent emails. In short, I was used to, and much prefer the "old" format.

As Thunderbird basic layout has not changed in years. I think you have a problem. But what is not obvious but try this. press Alt+V Select Toolbar from the view menu that appeared. Make sure their is a tick beside each of the entries on the toolbars menu. I am guessing more than one has become turned off, hence things just not being there.

That solved the problem. Thank you so much.

did you have one or more than one of those disabled? did changing those settings make anything you were not expecting appear?

I am seeing more of these types of topics appear and really would like to understand what is going on. It is not a flood, but a constant trickle of folk basically saying the same thing you did.
