video not playing
Hello, I am trying to play any of the videos on espn.com. The advertisements play and I can see the video in the thumbnail when I try to move the time that I am trying to watch in the video but all I see is a white screen where the actual video should be playing. Any ideas? Thanks

Last night the videos started working. Nothing changed but they work now. Thanks for everything.

Hi !
The video plays just fine when I try it .......
There could be a number of reasons; first see:
Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL':
http://mzl.la/1xKsEca
Also see:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-common-audio-and-video-issues
Your Shockwave is up to date; could you also check to see if Flash Player is up to date (should be 23.0.0.205 ) ?
I just had to re-install windows 10. With that I had to re-install all of my programs obviously. I have the latest flash and everything else. I did install Silverlight since it was on the page that you sent me. I also checked the hardware acceleration and WebGL settings. It still isn't showing me the videos. They work in Chrome and IE but not Firefox. I am out of ideas.
Bummer !
The culprit could be an add-on .........
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
- Click the menu button , click Help and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
- On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
- On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
- On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.
To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
If this doesn't solve the problem, we will have to keep looking ........
That didn't help either. I am going to try the extensions, themes and so on in a bit. Here is a screenshot of what I am seeing.
I tried the these and extensions and everything. Still the same problem. I am really out of ideas. Is anybody else having this issue? Which plugin does ESPN.com use for its videos? The ads work but not the videos.

The ads work but not the videos.
You mean: both picture and sound, like the video should be doing ???
Weird !
The video: no picture, but is there sound ?
And when you click on the Adobe Flash icon (on the left side of the
address bar): what does it say ?
Yes. The ads work great. Then it goes to show the video and I get a white box like in the screenshot that I sent. It says... adobe flash is enabled on www.espn.com when both the ads and the video are "playing"

Problem solved then ........ ('how' will remain a mystery)
Would you be a dear and mark your last post as Chosen Solution, just so others will know that this is no longer a problem ?
Should, however, the problem return: you know where to find us !
