I have TB on my computer. It downloads my emails from my company server via an IMAP server. The email protocol software on the server is called "HORDE". If I delete, move, copy and archive my emails on my work station is update to the server. However, the calendar (lightning)I use on my computer will not update the events/tasks between the two computers. I travel and even though I am away from my office, I still need to check and or modify my calendars from time to time and I would like to have the modifications update between the two calendars. I have put a red arrow next to the synchronize button in TB...I thought it would work. Is this possible? Any information would be helpful. Thank you.

Email and calendars use different protocols. Clearly this server offers IMAP and Thunderbird is quite happy with that, at least for email.

The challenge here is to find what calendar protocols are offered by Horde and then to see what we can do in Lightning to make use of these.

Thunderbird has built-in support for ICS, CalDAV and WCAP. Add-ons allow Google Calendar and MS Exchange calendars to be added. Does Horde offer any of these?

What you'll need to do is add another calendar into Lightning. Take the "network" option and fill in the required details. If Horde offer this, they will somewhere publish what settings, protocols and addresses to use.

Ok, Horde give me the network option. However, I do not think I am getting my settings accurate. I have set up a new calendar in Lightning and a new calendar in Horde, and have been doing some testng to see if they link and so far nothing is coming together. I feel like it has to be something simple...but I'm just not catching it. In fact, regardless if I set the network to be an ICS or a CalDAV anytime it syncs...it is only the new calendar that syncs with my existing calender on my local drive. My goal is to have my Horde calendar that I access through my online login to sync with my lightning calendar on my hard drive. I feel that I am so very close, but still just missing it by a hair.
