I am using an hp laptop and starting one week ago, when i open firefox but not immediately, after navigating to more than two websites, the screen starts moving up and down.

When the screen moves up and down, firefox locks up and i cannot move to another page and it is difficult to close firefox. it takes about two minutes of consistently hitting the X.

I have not loaded anything new in the past two weeks. I use Norton Security. Thanks for your help Frank

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • Do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

You can check if there is an update for your graphics display driver and check for hardware acceleration related issues.
