Automatic forward and mailheader
I let my T-Bird do automatic forward of e-mails, based on the content in the subject. They are sent to my accounting server, where I can detach the .PDF and use it as proof of purchase and so on.
The tricky part is that the accounting server is unable to get anything useful out of the mail, so I can't pick the .PDF If I forward the exact same mail from the keyboard on the same PC, the accounting server is happy.
What is being stuffed into the mailheader, or what is missing when using the automated method?

You seem fairly knowledgeable, so I recommend that you look at the e-mail headers yourself to find the differences.
Even if I did some testing, I would not be able to replicate your results because I don't have a server like you do.
See my screenshot for showing the source of an e-mail, which will show the headers.
