Once I've finalised and sent a (gmail) email in thunderbird, one or more drafts still remain in my email account on other devices. How do I stop this?
How do I stop thunderbird from saving these draft emails before I finalise a complex message. (note that on my phone, if I try to delete the draft gmail deletes the entire email trail!)

The only way I know of to circumvent this, is by storing the draft messages in a local folder and not on the Gmail server. Go to Tools -> Account Settings -> [your gmail account] -> Copies & Folders -> Drafts & Templates and choose to Keep messages drafts in Drafts folder on Local Folders...
