Is it possible to lock a mail lying in the Inbox or Sent folder?

I have a few mails in the Inbox as well as Sent folder. I want to prevent these mails from getting deleted accidentally. I want to lock these mails and the right to unlock should vest with me only. Is it possible to do this? If not, is there any other method that work similar to what I am looking? Or is it possible for your to introduce such a lock if it does not exist?

I don't think this is possible. To me your best bet would simply be a backup of your profile folder. https://support.mozilla.org/kb/profiles-where-thunderbird-stores-user-data#w_backing-up-a-profile
