Copy and paste works on the search bar of mozilla firefox, however, when I am in my classroom at Ashford.edu I can not use copy and paste. What do I do to fix this problem? I am able to copy and paste in the classroom in other browsers.

Is this on the school system? Have you checked with the IT?

I believe, from calling the technical support department before for similar issues, that they can not help with browser specific problems. Only functions that you access through the classroom. Considering that copy and paste is associated with my browser, they will not help. But if in case I am mistaken, I will give them a call as soon as they open today. Thank you for your response. I will post again to update the audience on the technical support team's response.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Try the alternatives with the Insert and Delete key.

Use keyboard shortcuts if the buttons on the web page or other methods aren't working.

  • Copy: Ctrl+C or Ctrl+Insert (Mac: Command + C)
  • Paste: Ctrl+V or Shift+Insert (Mac: Command + V)
  • Cut: Ctrl+X or Shift+Delete (Mac: Command + X)

One common reason for problems with pasting into rich text editors is if you disable their ability to detect pastes in their scripts. Could you check this setting:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste CLIP and pause while the list is filtered

(3) If the dom.event.clipboardevents.enabled preference is bolded and "user set" to false, double-click it to restore the default value of true

If you changed that, does it help?
