how do I automatically empty emails from deleted folder when I log off
My deleted emails remain in the delete folder until I manually empty the folder. I want have them automatically deleted when I exit Thunderbird

over on the right hand side of the window where is shows your email address.

right click the account in the folder pane on the right. Select settings Select server settings Select empty trash on exit.
